15 Arrested in Zanzibar Acid Attacks

Tanzanian police say 15 people have been arrested in connection with a string of acid attacks in Zanzibar, including some alleged Islamist radicals.

Last week, a priest was was badly burned in an acid attack, the fifth in Zanizbar in the last ten months. In August, an attacker doused two British women with acid.

Zanzibar’s police commissioner, Mussa Ali Mussa, says some of the suspects are youths who wanted to join the Somali militant group al-Shabab.
