Women’s Lobby Decries PF Arrogance

The Zambia National Women’s Lobby Group says it is unfortunate that the Patriotic Front government is closed to dialogue with stakeholders on critical matters affecting the country.

ZNWLG chairperson Beauty Katebe says President Michael Sata needs to take the lead in promoting dialogue in the country.

Katebe said there was a lot of tension in the country which could be diffused by dialogue among stakeholders.

“It is worrying that we have a government which is not open to dialogue with stakeholders. Various calls for dialogue have gone unheeded and we would like to implore them to promote dialogue,” she said.

“In a democratic dispensation, it is important that people dialogue with each other.”

Opposition leaders have engaged President Sata to dialogue on the new constitution but the country’s leader has offered no response to their correspondence.
