UPND Youths Still Camped At Hichilema’s Residence

Opposition United Party for National Development, UPND, youths are still camped at party president Hakainde Hichilema’s residence seeking to stop the police from implementing the arrest of the opposition leader.

And the Zambia Police are under pressure to arrest Hichilema but are still struggling to frame charges that will cover their acts.

The police had hoped to search his house on Tuesday but were forced to abandon their mission after UPND cadres rushed to Hichilema’s Kabulonga residence.

Youths who are still in Kabulonga are resolved to deny the police entry at Hichilema’s residence.

Meanwhile, UPND Vice President Dr Canisius Banda said that the party had been alerted by friendly forces within government that the PF had instructed the police to find something to charge Hichilema with and distract him in his campaigns.

Banda said that the ‘friendly’ forces were forced to alert the UPND establishment as they deemed the arrest absurd.

“We were alerted about the arrest by some people in government because they think it is not well intended,” he said.

“The growing popularity of HH is worrying them and they want to distract him.”

A scheme hatched by President Michael Sata’s puppeteers Post Newspaper Editor Fred M’membe, Director of Public Prosecution Mutembo Nchito and their preferred heir apparent Wynter Kabimba is underway exploring ways of curtailing Hichilema’s march towards 2016.
