Sata’s Electoral Violence in Zambia

On Saturday April 12, 2014, Zambia Reports exclusively published a video footage of United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema escape, using a rooftop exit, from being harmed by armed Patriotic Front cadres when he featured on a radio programme at Sun FM.

A few days later Fr Frank Bwalya, leader of Alliance for a Better Zambia, was attacked by the same PF cadres in Ndola while visiting one of his sick members.

And when it is said President Michael Sata is training a militia to protect his Patriotic Front’s hold on power, his zealots argue these suggestions are mere manifestations of bitterness by those who lost elections.

Here is evidence of a video demonstrating how President Sata’s boys treat the Zambia Police when cornered with weapons they use to attack the opposition and ordinary Zambians and sometimes themselves.

Indeed election violence has even become a normal thing in Zambia since Sata and PF started assumed office on September 23, 2011.

On November 8, 2012 the day of the Rufunsa Local Government by-election, the Zambia Police intercepted PF cadres from Lusaka’s Intercity Bus Terminus and confiscated pangas, firearms and other other dangerous objects.

The armed PF cadres were led by Kaizer Zulu who was then Lusaka Province deputy permanent secretary (later served as State House permanent secretary) in the company of PF Lusaka provincial chairman Geoffrey Chumbwe and PF Lusaka provincial youth chairman Kennedy Kamba.

Even though the Zambia Police officers appeared to have somewhat behaved professionally on this day, several people from opposition political parties like the United Party For National Development, UPND, were injured leaving Menyani Zulu a PF cadre dead.

Kaizer Zulu actually called the police officers idiots. These are President Sata’s boys who he commands to carry out crimes against humanity.
