PF Orders Mulenga Sata’s Opponents to Withdraw From LGAZ Race

Mulenga Sata’s fast track route towards possible anointment as heir to his father President Michael Sata took a giant leap as the Patriotic Front ordered all candidates from the ruling party to step aside in the Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) chairmanship elections.

Incumbent Daniel Chisenga and Ndola Mayor Samuel Munthali learnt where real power lay in the ruling party hours before the poll as they were telephonically informed they could not cross the party line to leave Mulenga Sata as the sole candidate under the ruling party umbrella.

The scenario is a repeat of the race for the mayoral position in Lusaka where all challengers were forced to withdraw to ensure that man President Sata is grooming to succeed him sweeps to the top.

Mulenga will face off with UPND councillor Aggrey Njekwa.

Munthali and Chisenga had insisted they would contest but withdrew at the last minute to pave way for the monarchical succession style of election being promoted under President Sata.
