Mulenga Sata Expectedly Scoops LGAZ Presidency Amid Bribes and Threats

LUSAKA Mayor Mulenga Sata has scooped the Local Government Association of Zambia presidency with 47 votes beating former Livingstone mayor Aggrey Njekwa who had 36 votes.

Former Lusaka mayor Daniel Chisenga withdrew from the race a day before the elections while Ndola mayor Samuel Munthali pulled out on the day of the elections.

According to the PF propaganda machine, The Post, both participants said they pulled out of the race in the best interest of the party and felt that Mulenga was the right person for the position.

But sources say the duo were ordered to pull out by the party with threats and bribes characterising their eventual exit from the race.

Mulenga said he would represent the wishes and aspirations of the local authorities in Zambia regardless of their political status.
