Immigration Reluctant to Act On Kabimba

The Immigration Department say they are constrained on whether to investigate the confession by Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba that he smuggled Kenyans in the country during the 2011 elections to help the Patriotic Front with Parallel Voter Tabulation.

Immigration Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka said they had not yet decided to whether to probe Kabimba or leave him.

Kabimba recently publicly stated that had the PF lost elections in the 2011 elections he would have been arrested as he smuggled foreign nationals to help with PVT.

Nshinka said the immigration had been unaware of Kabimba’s acts before his public confession.

“We have heard it for the first time, we were not aware there is no way we comment,” said a cagey Nshinka.

Kabimba has been facing calls for arrest since his confession that he smuggled Kenyans through the Nakonde Border Post during the 2011 elections.
