Fr Bwalya Judgment in “Sweet Potato Case” Set for July 15

Judgment in the case in which Alliance for a Better Zambia president Father Frank Bwalya is alleged to have defamed President Michael Sata has been set for July, 15, 2014 in Kasama.

Fr Bwalya is facing a defamation of the President charge after he metaphorically referred to President Sata as Chumbu Munshololwa (a potato that bends when any attempt to straighten it is made).

The opposition leaders elected to remain silent when called upon to give his testimony.

Fr Bwalya fell out with the PF after he withdrew his public support of the ruling party citing their having failed to honour their campaign promises.
