ZAMBIAN GOVT TO CONTINUE HELPING INVESTORS THRIVE, CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPMENT

The Chief Government Spokesperson, Kampamba Mulenga, says the Zambian government will continue creating an enabling environment in which investors can thrive and contribute to the country’s development.

Mulenga, who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, said Monday that investors deserved a good environment in which they could invest, make profits as well as partner with the government in developing the country.

Speaking when she received earth-moving equipment valued at more than 198,000 US dollars from a company, NFCA Mining, in Kalulushi, a town in Copperbelt Province, about 370 kilometres north of here, she urged councilors in the district to utilise the equipment to open up access roads.

NFCA Mining Deputy Chief Executive Officer Chen Zhimin said despite the company incurring losses from its local operations in the past three years, it had continued giving back to the community where it operates.

Meanwhile, Kalulushi Deputy Mayor Modester Kabwe said the Kalulushi Municipal Council had offered the Chinese firm tax rebates because of its corporate social responsibility programmes aimed at uplifting people’s lives.
