ZAMBIAN FINANCE TO ATTEND SPRING MEETINGS OF IMF, WORLD BANK IN WASHINGTON DC

LUSAKA,Zambian Finance Minister Felix Mutati will attend the 2017 Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group to be held in Washington DC this Friday to Sunday.

Mutati, who will be accompanied on the trip by Minister of National Planning and Development Lucky Mulusa, is also expected to attend the Africa Group One Constituency meeting while in the United States capital.

The Spring meetings of the two global financial institutions bring together Ministers of Finance, Ministers of Development, governors of central banks and civil society organizations representatives to discuss global economic affairs among other matters.

Several meetings are also expected to be held in Washington between the Zambian delegation and representatives of the country’s co-operation partners. Mutati is also expected to address the Youth Platform Breakfast which will discuss the best ways to support the full participation of young people in the economy and in society.

Mulusa meanwhile is expected to speak at the High-Level Panel discussion on the refugee crisis in Africa and its impact on the economies of host countries.
